This covers the website and the game. Questions go to dromi@vibrur.is.

The website

Cookies and tracking

None. No cookies, analytics, ads or tracking, so there's no cookie banner.

Hosting

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub sees basic technical data like your IP address and browser type when it serves a page, so it can deliver it and stop abuse. We never see that data.

Everything on the site, including the fonts and images, comes from vibrur.is. Nothing loads from other services.

The playtest report form

The report form is for playtesters. Your answers are saved in your own browser while you type, so you don't lose them. They stay on your device until you press send, and "Clear all my answers" deletes them.

When you press send, your answers, any files you attach, and the browser and screen size you used go through FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), which emails them to us. FormSubmit first asks you to tick an "I'm not a robot" box. That check is Google reCAPTCHA, and it runs on FormSubmit's page, not on this site.

Links and email

Links to Steam, Instagram and TikTok take you to those sites, and their privacy policies apply there. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can reply.

The game

Better Together is made by Víbrur Games in Reykjavík, Iceland. It collects as little as it can.

What the game uses

Your Steam ID and an Epic Online Services account ID, plus session and matchmaking data. These are only used to connect you with other players and run the game.

Your IP address, to set up connections between players, like any online game.

Voice and text chat go to the other players in real time through Epic Online Services. We don't routinely record or store voice chat, and text chat isn't kept after your session.

Music you import into the in-game music player stays on your computer. It's never uploaded to us or sent to other players.

If you send a bug report from inside the game, your logs and whatever you write go to us through Discord so we can look into it. Please leave personal information out of it.

Why we use it

Where the GDPR applies, we use this data to provide the game and its online features, which is our agreement with you, and because we have a legitimate interest in running, securing and improving the game.

Who else handles it

We don't sell your data. Three services handle some of it:

They may process data outside Iceland and the EEA, under their own safeguards and privacy policies.

How long we keep it

Only as long as we need it to run multiplayer and fix problems. Chat isn't kept after your session, and imported music never leaves your computer.

Your rights

This part covers both the website and the game.

If you're in the EEA or the UK, you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, and you can object to some kinds of processing. Email dromi@vibrur.is for any of that. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In Iceland that's Persónuvernd.

The game isn't made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes too.
